Taking the Tour

I will be adding photos and commentary about this tour. I would like to see your stories and pictures of this first Shunpiker event in Niagara.

This is our first stop. The stone remains for Captain John Decew's house. It was cold but bright and sunny.

Thank you!

I would like to thank the organizers of the first Shunpiker mystery tour here in Niagara.
I enjoyed learning more about the area I have lived in for so many years. My only concern was about the inclusion of two stops that really had nothing to do with Laura Secord. I understand the visit to lock 3 because of the connection between Mr. William Hamilton Merritt and Laura Secord. I don't see why we stopped at the Artist's centre (which was not opened when I was there) or the stop at Avondale (yes I get the cow connection but really it was just an excuse to get us to buy ice cream).
Starting at 8:30 my husband and I were able to complete everything by noon and I will definitely do the Shunpiker Tour again next year. I want to mention as well the volunteers who waited at stations and spoke about the place they represented. They did a great job and showed great enthusiasm for their topics.
